Grief Share Synopsis

“This is by far, the hardest thing I have ever had to do since becoming a Christian. Oh, I have had troubles like we all do, but this is completely different. Nothing else comes close to this experience in terms of the level of personal pain and suffering.”

These are the words shared by fellow Christ-follower who suffered the recent unexpected death of a spouse. In response to the shattering reality of the loss of a loved one, Legacy Christian Church will be offering a Grief Share small group dedicated to persons in our church and in our community who find themselves in this unwanted circumstance and would like to meet with others who are in the same situation and learn how to process and navigate this hard road together.

The Grief Share Program features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The video teaching for the group will feature nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion facilitated by a trained Legacy volunteer. Past participants have related how helpful the information and follow-up discussions were to them.

Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when friends or family have returned to their daily life routines. Too often people, including Christians, tend to stuff their grief instead of allowing it to do the God-given work for which it is intended. Don’t allow fear of what others may think to keep you from what could help you. Confidentiality is very much a part of this program. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member, or friend.

No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to certain emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal in life and renewing your hope for the future. Even if you yourself have not suffered such a loss, please pray about sharing this information with others in your life who may benefit from participating in this group.

Guatemala Missions Trip

Interested in going to Guatemala with a Legacy Team?

In partnership with Casas por Cristo, Legacy Christian Church participates in an annual short-term trip to San Raymundo, Guatemala. Our mission is to share the love of Jesus by building a house for a family in need, chosen by a local pastor. In six days, we travel to San Raymundo, build a simple home from start to finish, foundation to rooftop, and participate in a dedication ceremony.

Speaking a blessing over the family and presenting them with a Bible and keys to their new home is the an incredibly impactful experience for all involved. On our final day, we will experience a fun excursion, like visiting the ancient city of Antigua, or exploring the Mayan ruins.

Please note: A parent or guardian must accompany any applicant who is under 18 years of age. Participants must have a valid passport that does not expire until at least six months after the trip’s arrival date.

If YOU would like more information on serving with a Legacy team, please reach out to Angie Teeple at [email protected] today!

Legacy Bylaws

march 10, 2025

As promised, the Bylaws of Legacy Christian Church have been comprehensively updated. You can find a copy of the current bylaws here.

Read the bylaws

April 1, 2024

The results are in! THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the voting process. We are humbled by the unwavering trust that was demonstrated in the Leadership Team of Legacy Christian Church! The vote on the proposed amendment witnessed an exceptional level of engagement from our congregation, with over 800 votes cast—the highest in Legacy’s voting history. 746 out of 801 voters showed support for the amendment, reflecting a 93% approval rate for updating the bylaws. Thus, as of April 1, 2024, the “Bylaws of Legacy Christian Church” have been amended to reflect the proposed change.

In the coming months, the Administrative Board of Elders will collaborate with teams of professionals to comprehensively update the bylaws. Once this project is final, we are committed to promptly posting the revised bylaws on this webpage. Your continued support and prayers are invaluable as we strive to serve our congregation with integrity and transparency.
