For more information, please contact Bryan Dunham ([email protected]) or David Sims (913-579-3535).

Griefshare Synopsis:

“This is by far, the hardest thing I have ever had to do since becoming a Christian. Oh, I have had troubles like we all do, but this is completely different. Nothing else comes close to this experience in terms of the level of personal pain and suffering.”

These are the words shared by fellow Christ-follower who suffered the recent unexpected death of a spouse. In response to the shattering reality of the loss of a loved one, Legacy Christian Church Blue Valley Campus will be offering a GriefShare small group dedicated to persons in our church and in our community who find themselves in this unwanted circumstance and would like to meet with others who are in the same situation and learn how to process and navigate this hard road together.

The GriefShare Program features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The video teaching for the group will feature nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories of people, followed by a small group discussion facilitated by a trained Legacy volunteer. Past participants have related how helpful the information and follow-up discussions were to them.

Many grieving people find they are only beginning the work of healing when friends or family have returned to their daily life routines. Too often people, including Christians, tend to stuff their grief instead of allowing it to do the God-given work for which it is intended. Don’t allow fear of what others may think to keep you from what could help you. Confidentiality is very much a part of this program. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. You will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member, or friend.

No matter what the cause of your loved one’s death, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and that you do not need to live in bondage to certain emotions. You will learn valuable information about facing your new normal in life and renewing your hope for the future. Even if you yourself have not suffered such a loss, please pray about sharing this information with others in your life who may benefit from participating in this group.

Girls Night Out!

Rooted is a time to gather with others! A girls night out with friends, to talk, laugh, encourage, hear some good news, and accept the challenge of being Rooted in Joy. We will hear from a panel, join with others in worship, and joyfully eat some sweet treats as we spend the evening together.

We strongly encourage you to invite a friend, neighbor, and/or co-worker to join you. Go to dinner as a group before the event but be sure to arrive before 7pm to grab your T-shirt. The shirts are first come, first served in both size and number available.

ABIDE (1, 2, & 3 John) | Wednesdays 9:00am-11:00am | January 17-March 20

A 10 week Bible study by Jen Wilkin

How can we hold on to assurance of our faith? How can we discern the truth from a lie? How can we know God loves us?

In three short letters, the apostle John reminds an early church facing division, deception, and doubt to hold fast to what they know and to live like they believe it. And he reminds us, as well. In this 10-session Bible study on the letters of 1, 2, and 3 John, Jen Wilkin helps you see how two thousand years later, his words call to Christians in similar challenges to recall a great salvation and to abide in the truth.

The Blessing Tree

View Registry

‘Tis the season for blessings! Legacy is showing love to families and the surrounding community by providing gifts for Christmas! We are reaching out to the city’s schools, single parent homes, widows and even those who are just having a difficult year, to show the love of Jesus by meeting tangible needs!

To Give a Blessing:

Blessing Trees will be at every campus during Advent season for you to view a registry of needs, select gifts to purchase, and bring back to bless others! You can also view a campus registry online! Here’s how it works:

  1. Take an ornament from the Blessing Tree at your local campus and scan the QR code to view a registry of needs. If you aren’t able to worship onsite, you can still participate and view the registry here!
  2. Select your campus in the online registry. Add the items you want to purchase to your list. Tap complete! You will receive a detailed confirmation email that contains a tag number and next steps.
  3. Purchase the gifts you selected. Attach the tag to the gift(s) you purchased and return them to your local campus.

Values of Legacy Moms

  1. We will love and accept each other through genuine, authentic friendships. Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

  2. We will support and encourage one another by always pointing to Biblical TRUTH. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage one another and build each other up.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

  3. We will help one another through selfless service. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

  4. We will challenge one another to be accountable for spiritual growth.  2 Peter 1:5-8 “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
