The exodus of the Israelites shapes our understanding of the whole Bible, its themes reverberating all the way to Revelation. Exodus is the birth narrative of a nation unmistakably guided by the Great Deliverer.

In this 10-session verse-by-verse study of Exodus 1–18, Jen Wilkin shows us that Israel’s story is our story: the same God who delivered Israel also delivers all those He loves from slavery to sin and from service to the pharaohs of this world. He lifts our eyes to the promised land He has prepared where we dwell with I AM and worship Him as the one true God.

The Names of God - LS Women's Study

Join the Lee’s Summit women for a study by Melissa Spoelstra called,  “The Names of God – His Character Revealed”.  It can be hard to make sense of God with all the suffering and injustice in the world. Sometimes He seems elusive, and His instructions in Scripture are often confusing. With so many questions about God, how can we really know Him better? By learning more about His names!  Books are available through various sources.

Legacy Moms

9:00-11:00AM AT THE OVERLAND PARK CAMPUS (Oct 12, nov 9, dec 14)

sign up for legacy moms
Welcome to Legacy Moms! In this gathering, we build community for new and expecting mothers through biblical teaching and small groups where you’ll be paired with a Discussion Leader and a Mentor Mom. These groups are a wonderful, safe place to connect with other moms like you, share prayer requests, and build new friendships. Leaders and Mentor Moms are committed to supporting you and loving you.

Community is not always comfortable, but we must choose to commit anyway.

This year we’re going to focus on being mama bears who stand firm. As we study how to stand firm in our faith, we’ll hold onto these core values of Legacy Moms:

  1. We will love and accept each other through genuine, authentic friendships. Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

  2. We will support and encourage one another by always pointing to Biblical TRUTH. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage one another and build each other up.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

  3. We will help one another through selfless service. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

  4. We will challenge one another to be accountable for spiritual growth.  2 Peter 1:5-8 “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Legacy Moms meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Overland Park campus from 9:00-11:00am. We will follow the SMSD for any weather cancellations.
Fall 2021 Semester meeting dates are as follows:
  • October 12
