Legacy Family Memory Work Challenge

2022 Family Memory Work

LEGACY KIDS MEMORY WORK CHALLENGE

2022 Family Kids Memory Work Challenge

We are really excited about our 2022 Legacy Family KIDS Memory Work Challenge and are praying this has a huge impact on your families’ lives.  Feel free to modify/shorten verses or add/subtract the adjacent verses to to make more/less of a challenge.  We would love for the WHOLE Family to do this together!

  • Memory Work Challenge 2022:  One foundational memory verse has been provided each MONTH for your child(ren) to focus on.  For 4-5 weeks Legacy Preschool through 5th Grade children will be working on this chosen verse in their classrooms and at home.  Our hope is that at the end of 2022 whole families will have 12 verses committed to memory and hidden in their hearts.
  • How it Works:  Legacy KIDS will be receiving a card with a year of verses to keep in their Bibles, in the car or at home.  Below is the link to an electronic copy as well.  We will encourage our kids to BUILD on top of their verses each month, not just memorize a verse one month and forget it the next.  To encourage this, EACH Campus will offer a fun Family Celebration at the end of the year!
  • Memory Challenge Prizes:  Everyone likes to be rewarded, especially kids!  Each of our campuses will have a unique way to allow kids to earn prizes at least monthly for their hard work of committing these verses to memory.  Some rewards might be class parties/incentives, treasure box prizes and/or candy!

Legacy Moms

9:00-11:00AM AT THE OVERLAND PARK CAMPUS

Welcome to Legacy Moms! In this gathering, we build community for new and expecting mothers through biblical teaching and small groups where you’ll be paired with a Discussion Leader and a Mentor Mom. These groups are a wonderful, safe place to connect with other moms like you, share prayer requests, and build new friendships. Leaders and Mentor Moms are committed to supporting you and loving you.

Community is not always comfortable, but we must choose to commit anyway.

This year we’re going to focus on being mama bears who stand firm. As we study how to stand firm in our faith, we’ll hold onto these core values of Legacy Moms:

  1. We will love and accept each other through genuine, authentic friendships. Proverbs 27:17 “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

  2. We will support and encourage one another by always pointing to Biblical TRUTH. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Encourage one another and build each other up.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

  3. We will help one another through selfless service. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

  4. We will challenge one another to be accountable for spiritual growth.  2 Peter 1:5-8 “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Legacy Moms meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Overland Park campus from 9:00-11:00am. We will follow the SMSD for any weather cancellations.
