What is the purpose of project advance?

Project Advance is a strategic initiative that will unite Legacy Christian Church as we partner with God to advance His Kingdom by creating life-changing opportunities to reach more people for Jesus! This is a vision that honors our past and celebrates our present, as we confidently step into the incredible future God has in store for Legacy!

WHY START PROJECT ADVANCE NOW?

God is blessing Legacy with remarkable spiritual, numerical, and financial growth. This initiative started at the request of previous leadership and was confirmed through prayer and discernment by the elders and staff. It is evident that God is moving at Legacy, and we want to remove barriers that might prevent others from experiencing God’s love.

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE OF THIS INITIATIVE?

The Project Advance initiative is planned for 2025-2026. The facilities improvement portion of Project Advance will be completed in phases. We aim to begin construction on some items as soon as the first quarter of 2025. We are committed to communicating the plan and progress every step of the way.

how does Project advance align with legacy’s mission and VISION?

Project Advance is all about making disciples. We are intentionally building relationships and removing barriers that might hinder people from coming to know Jesus and growing in their faith. As we all pray, tell, and give, we are better equipped to invite others into biblical community. 

what impact will project advance have on our church and community?

This initiative will enable us to be more prepared for the growth that we are experiencing in our surrounding communities.  The Overland Park Campus has the Meridian Project nearby; The Olathe Campus is seeing a new neighborhood with 300 homes being built in its backyard; The Blue Valley Campus is experiencing major growth in the diverse communities surrounding it; and the Lee’s Summit campus is seeing new housing developments nearby as well. Project Advance helps us to intentionally invest in relationships and Legacy’s facilities, as we continue to provide a welcoming environment for those new to the area.

DO I MAKE A SEPARATE PLEDGE TO SUPPORT PROJECT ADVANCE?

No. For the past 55 years, members and guests at Legacy have made an annual faith promise pledge to the Lord. By faith, we trust that God will move His people to make financial sacrifices in order to give above and beyond their regular gifts to the General Fund. This additional financial support will allow us the opportunity to continue making the much-needed facility improvements that are part of Project Advance! Learn more about ways to give here.

how will project advance affect legacy’s long-term financial health?

This initiative has been carefully planned to ensure that it will not negatively impact the church’s long-term financial health. The funds for Project Advance are above and beyond our regular operational budget, which means that our ongoing ministries and daily operations will continue without interruption.
