Thursday Night Service

Legacy Christian Church has shifted its 6pm Saturday service to Thursday night at 6:45. This new service has been designed for people across Kansas City who are unable to attend weekend services.

Schedule

5:30-6:20 pm = Dinner

  • Weekly meals will be offered every Thursday before service, usually in the Overland Park Campus gym. These meal times will provide a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship and build community.
  • Members and regular attenders will be asked to make a low-cost suggested donation. First-time guests will be given a free meal ticket.

6:45-8:00 pm = Worship Service

  • The Thursday services will be identical to Legacy’s Sunday services, with dynamic worship, biblical teaching, a time of communion, and age-appropriate children’s programming.
  • The Thursday night teaching will follow the same teaching schedule as the upcoming weekend services.

Why is Legacy launching a Thursday night service?
  • For our community: 
    • Thursday services will help Legacy reach people who are not yet connected to any local church. Many people in our community travel or work on weekends, making Thursday a viable alternative for them.
    • To our knowledge, no other churches in the area offer a Thursday service. ”To reach people we’ve never reached before, we have to do some things we’ve never done before.”
  • For our church: Thursday services will equip Legacy members for all campuses with a new evangelistic tool, an opportunity to serve, and an alternative worship option for those traveling over the weekend.
  • For our team: Thursdays will also provide Legacy’s multi-campus staff and their families a unique opportunity to worship together.  We believe these shared experiences will facilitate deeper community among the staff that will, in turn, bless the entire church.
How can I help the launch of this new Thursday service?
  • Pray.  Ask God to bless and use these services to reach new people and to bring glory to His Son.
  • Serve.  Volunteers will be needed in food services, guest services, children’s ministry, technology, and worship teams.
  • Invite.  Please partner with Legacy and make the most of this new opportunity by telling others.
Will the shift to Thursday nights be permanent?

Legacy’s leadership has committed to Thursday services through the summer of 2019. We are excited to see how God uses this opportunity to help more people in our community encounter – and be changed by – Jesus Christ.
