30 Jun “The Heart of Grandparenting”
On Tuesday, July 23 at the Overland Park Campus, Ken Canfield, Ph.D. will be speaking at Legacy’s next Straight Talk workshop on “The Heart of Grandparenting.” Dinner begins at 6:00 pm in the Parlor. The program will begin at 7:00 pm. The Senior Ministry is providing the main course (Beef Brisket), while attendees are asked to bring a dish to share.
Please bring the following dish, based on your last name:
- A-H: Dessert
- I-M: Salad
- N-Z: Vegetable or other side dish

Dr. Ken Canfield is a recognized leader, writer and speaker who has committed his life to strengthening fathers, families and grandparents. He founded the National Association of Grandparenting in 2017, Grandkids Matters. The mission is to equip, encourage, and resource grandparents with research-based strategies, supporting them as they live out their vital role within the family system.
In 2018, Dr. Canfield and the Grandkids Matter team published their first book, The Heart of Grandparenting: How Grandparents Strengthen Family and Grandchildren Outcomes. This will be the basis of his presentation and he will be available for questions.
Dr. Canfield is the author of numerous articles, twelve books, as well as a contributor to many collaborative texts. Come join fellow Legacy grandparents for fellowship, fun, entertainment, and an informative evening.
