26 Jul Legacy Buddies
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them.” The Legacy Buddies Ministry offers several programs to make sure the Good News of Jesus Christ is available for everyone.
Legacy Buddies students are integrated into the mainstream classrooms during each of our weekend services. This enables parents or caregivers to join in worship services, while their children are supported in age-appropriate classes.
We also have buddies integrated with middle and high school programming on Wednesday nights.
A team of 2 to 4 buddies (trained leaders) is assigned to the child in alternating weeks, encouraging familiarity and consistency for the child, while allowing flexibility for the leaders. Using information that parents provide, the ministry coordinator carefully matches the child with a team of buddies and equips them with information specific to the child’s diagnosis and unique needs. Buddies are available during the worship services at all campuses.
The Friendship Class (Only at the Overland Park Campus):
Legacy Buddies Bible class meets on Sundays during the 10:45 am worship service at the Overland Park Campus. It is for kids ages: 12 and up to learn about God on their own level, with visually stimulating lessons and activities.
If you have an individual with special needs and would like to have them be apart of the Legacy Buddies Ministry, please complete the Buddies Participation Form and turn in to Angie Teeple ([email protected]).
Legacy Buddies is here to partner with every family with special needs as we strive to make disciples of all who attend. If you would like to serve as a Legacy Buddy, fill out the volunteer form and turn in to Angie Teeple ([email protected]).
