Daily we see God move and work in the details because of both His faithfulness and your prayers. Gather with Legacy as we seek God’s will and pray for Him to do mighty things in and through us!
We will gather at each campus to call on the Lord through prayer to work in our church, through Legacy’s leadership, our missions partners, to heal marriages and families, and ultimately to reach the lost and see the Kingdom of God grow!
Prayer is the center-point of life with God. It should be woven into the fabric of our morning routine, our weekly schedule, and especially with biblical community. It is in prayer where we get to enjoy the Father’s company. Prayer is our opportunity to interact with the Creator God and participate in his work of bringing redemption to earth.
A FASTING EMPHASIS:
Legacy is doing a biblical study on spiritual principles called “Rule of Life.” Each Sunday we have discussed how God intends for His people to live life to the fullest and Christians accomplish this through their spiritual disciplines. At Night of Prayer, Legacy will practice each principle from the “Rule of Life” series including Scripture meditation, the Prayer of Examen (5 R’s), fasting, and communion!
Sunday May 21 will focus on the spiritual practice of fasting. Fasting is going without food for a set amount of time to awaken our body and soul to our deep hunger and need for God. It’s one of the most powerful of all of Jesus’ practices. Through the history of the Church, fasting was considered just as central as reading the Bible. It’s a great discipline to reintegrate our mind to our body and offer our whole selves to God in surrender.
Legacy’s church-wide fast will start after church the night of May 21 and end following Night of Prayer on May 22. See the fasting guidelines to prepare.
